Mortgage Applications Rise as Rates Fall

According to Freddie Mac, 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 4.45% in the week of January 17th, sending mortgages purchase applications soaring. All this suggesting that the recent housing downturn may be easing.
Mortgage applications are at the highest level since April 2010, Mortgage Bankers Association said Wednesday and refinancing is also on the rise.
